Check Your Insurance Cover Before New Insurance Ruling
Posted on June 1st, 2011
The Motor Insurance Database has urged the car owners to check their registration with them and be insured through car insurance supermarket. The firm is also working with different UK insurance providers like Allianz, Aviva, Zurich and RSA to check the details of their customers recording in their database.
The car owners can themselves check their car registration number logged with MID online and in case the car owners do not find their car registered with MID, they can contact their insurance provider immediately to update the records. This will help the MID in correctly updating the data and avoid any warning letter to be sent to the car insurance owner by mistake.
The launch of new Continuous Insurance scheme by June 2011 makes it compulsory for the car owner to have protective insurance cover for their car whether you are driving on road or keeping in garage. The car owners, whose insurance data is not with MID, will receive a warning letter to get their car insured. But if you already have car insurance and your data is missing with MID then inform your provider to update your data with MID.
If the car owner receives warning letter and does not take needed action then he will have to bear serious penalties that include fine, vehicle clamping and seizing. One can get affordable car insurance quotes through car insurance supermarket and avoid any fine and vehicle clamping under new ruling.
MIB is working together with DVLA and government to effectively launch the new scheme. The industry is trying to keep its customers prepared ahead of the change in law by updating their data with MIB. The British Insurance Brokers Association is worried about the rise in insurance premium due to uninsured drivers on road.
